Edgewater Chamber of Commerce and Edgewater Development Corp Join Forces

Edgewater, Chicago, IL – The Edgewater Chamber of Commerce (“the Chamber”) and Edgewater Development Corp (“EDC”) are pleased to announce, after a yearlong process supported by staff and community partners, that the EDC will now function as the economic development arm of the Chamber.  This structural partnership will allow for better alignment of resources, expanded collective customer impacts, and further organizational achievements.

“The Edgewater Chamber of Commerce and Edgewater Development Corporation are two long-standing organizations that have helped to build our community. I am excited to see them joining forces to continue moving economic development forward for Edgewater,” said Alderman Harry Osterman.

The Chamber will continue to support the business community, by helping local business grow, as well as advocate for an environment that attracts attention as a local destination. The EDC will continue to drive initiatives dedicated to Edgewater’s economic prosperity and business attraction.

The EDC Board of Directors has appointed an Economic Development Steering Committee, which will develop a framework and partnership with urban practitioners to enhance EDC’s efforts to attract new businesses to Edgewater and support them through their first year of operation.

“We are proud to bring together these two organizations and further our collective mission to create a neighborhood of opportunity where creativity is honored, and businesses can flourish. Together, our partnership will provide more people the chance to experience our vibrant and thriving community,” said Christina Pfitzinger, Executive Director of the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce.

Both organizations will reside at 1210 W. Rosedale. Lauren Guydan will continue to lead the EDC efforts as the Associate Director, Business Development, under the new structure, and Christina Pfitzinger is the Executive Director of the Chamber.
